That show's art style is certainly something unique. In a different universe, I'd probably watch it.
My hypothesis is that affects the brain the same way anime does. After all the art is similar, the final effects seem to be pretty much the same (huge fan base on the internet that love spamming pics, making their own imageboards, and lots of porn). It even consists mostly of little girls! So it's basically an independent discovery of moe by the west.

>>9609i like ponies but don't watch much anime. i used to watch some anime though, years ago. i can understand the comments that the appeal is similar to some of the moe shows like k-on or lucky star. honestly, most of the story lines are pretty badly written but i think that the characters are good and compelling and sufficiently complex and human enough to be interesting. i just like it because it is sweet and innocent fun with interesting and relatable characters.
anyway i have no interest in the porn i find it to be disgusting.
